Little Big House in Brno

Small in terms of its built-up area, which was determined by the dimensions of the buildable part of the plot. Big in its interior space.

A concept that has proven itself to me in the past: a half-floor arrangement, a modest Raumplan. Here, this solution led to an interesting use of the total volume, which was given by the adjacent buildings, and at the same time, it naturally overcomes the height difference between the street and the garden inside the house.

By the way, it's actually like a cat scratching post. Each room is like a platform extending from the central staircase. It wasn't entirely intentional, but during the design process, I realized that for this client, it's not just a coincidence. 🐈

I developed the architectural study in winter 2024 for a specific client of VESPER HOMES company. The construction of the building is currently in preparation.
